First, distinguish visible water in the drum from clothes that are simply wet after the cycle. They can point to different problems.
Standing water or an incomplete spin?
Visible water may mean the drain stage did not finish. If the water has gone but clothes remain heavy and wet, spinning or load balance may be involved. Neither symptom identifies a failed part on its own.
Safe observations before inspection
Check the programme shown on the display against the manual; some settings delay draining. Look for a bend in the visible hose without pulling out the washer or disconnecting it.
What does the error code mean?
Record the code exactly. It may relate to drainage, locking or operation, but meanings vary by brand and model. It does not by itself prove a pump failure.
When to call a technician
Request an inspection if water remains, stopping recurs, or there is a leak or loud noise. Stop using the washer if it leaks or smells of burning. Do not touch the plug or connections in a wet area.
